We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic School Librarian Intern to support the daily operations of our school library. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in library services, resource management, literacy activities, and working with students and teachers in a school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the librarian in managing daily library operations and services
Support book circulation activities, including borrowing, returning, and recording library materials
Assist in organizing, labeling, shelving, and maintaining books and other library resources
Help maintain accurate records of library collections, borrowing activities, and inventory
Assist students and teachers in locating books, references, and other learning resources
Provide basic support to library users in using the library catalog and digital library resources
Help maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and comfortable library environment
Assist in monitoring the condition of books and report damaged or missing materials to the librarian
Support cataloging and updating records for new books and library collections
Assist in preparing library displays, reading corners, book recommendations, and other promotional activities
Support literacy programs, reading activities, storytelling sessions, book fairs, and other library-related events
Assist in preparing books, learning materials, and other resources requested by teachers
Help maintain and organize digital files, documents, and library administration records
Support administrative tasks related to library operations as required
Perform other duties and projects assigned by the librarian or supervisor
Qualifications & Skills:
Final-year student or recent graduate with a degree in Library Science, English Education, Literature, Information Management, or a related field
Demonstrated interest in working in a school and educational environment
Has an interest in books, reading, literacy, and working with students
Good organizational and administrative skills
Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working with children and teenagers
Basic computer skills, particularly Google Workspace
Willing to learn library management systems and digital library tools
Creative and proactive in supporting library programs and activities
Proactive, eager to learn, and a collaborative team player
Proficient in English language
Having a Responsible to Life attitude
